RE: Temporary furlough of all Church employees
As you are all aware the country is experiencing extreme challenges and the way we live has changed. The trustees and leaders of the church are having to make some difficult decisions accordingly. One of these is take up the government’s offer to “furlough employees” and for the government to pay 80% of their salaries. Therefore, as from Wednesday 1st April all 4 employees (including myself) will become furloughed workers. This means we cannot carry out any work for our employers; but can choose to volunteer. Obviously the church finances have come under a strain. One reason for this is that we do not physically gather in person on Sunday’s and this has had a knock on effect financially. So if you used to make your tithes/offerings by cash or cheque we would be most grateful if you could consider either putting them to one side in a tin or jar or alternatively contact Jonathan Thomas who will provide you with the churches bank details so you can set up a monthly standing order.
Many thanks Paul
